An Occasion of Blame

Prepare to become acquainted with your execution stake.

Not a pleasant thought, nevertheless it is a requirement. Pick it up, feel it’s scratchy roughness press into your skin. Smell the odor of freshly cut wood, and it seems heavy too. A little off balance perhaps? Don’t know how far you can carry it? Really, are you kidding, ready to let it drop? Many of you will, just let go of it, turn and say that you didn’t sign up for this.

I’m writing to those who have taken up the commitment and are carrying it even now. Hopefully, some who may happen to read this will find encouragement or perhaps a fellow sojourner-warrior in kind. We must understand that the attacks which have come against us and will yet come are first of a spiritual origin. Then the inspired element is performed in the natural.

(Your sanctification progresses as a result of your tenacity in doing and guarding the Commandments of Yah, you will stand out all the more as the presence of wickedness saturates the world.)

As Messiah, Y’shua, Jesus the Christ, explained to you beforehand, that attacks will come from loved ones, members of our families. As this prophecy comes to fruition in your life, it seems these are first, or phase one, then the outside world. If this sounds familiar, and you have become a cause or occasion of blame, discredit, disgrace, you are tarnished, mocked and scorned, you are likely on the right road. I want you to remember something, you are living out in brotherhood and sisterhood the hours leading up to crucifixion the same as Y’shua. As He said, the disciple or pupil is not above his Master. In other words, He went through it, so will you. They said He had a demon, they’ll say you have a demon, and so on. Essentially, we have become the accused, as He was accused, the difference being that He is sinless, we are not.

The effort is warlike against you, it is an ongoing, relentless accusation process taking place in the presence of Yahweh by the “accuser of the brethren” who seems to be cast down on you. This same spirit inhabited those who accused Y’shua before He was put to death. It is compared to rust gnawing, flaking and pitting away at a sheet of steel, or acid’s corrosive effect burning it’s way through, hot venom, which you must endure. As the book of Revelation chapter 12, verses 10 and 11 states, each of us knows we overcome this accusing spirit by what? The blood of the Lamb (which is the cleansing of our own sin). Also, our testimony and our willingness to literally lay our lives on the line.

False witness arrives in the trial phase, at judgment. I’m not speaking about the White Throne Judgment but when you were warned against those speaking all manner of evil against you falsely. You imagine this evil to be blatant outright lies with no basis in truth. In reality false witness often combines truthful elements to paint a skewed picture in the mind of the hearers. That’s all it takes. Let me give you a prime example of false witness. You’ve heard the adage that truth is an essential component to an effective lie.

In the beloved chapter 24 of Matthew’s Gospel, verse 2, we find Y’shua giving a prophecy concerning the destruction of the temple with all of it’s grandeur. He said, “See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” And Y’shua, speaking of His own death and resurrection as recorded in John’s Gospel chapter 2 verse 19, stated to his interrogators, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Now see the clever rearrangement of truth delivered by the two giving false witness before the high priest. Matthew 26:61 documents it, “This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.” In the heat of the moment, this misrepresentation is easily accepted as a true statement, particularly if the momentum of the mob was set against the accused in the first place.

You see, the spiritual war against you started when you were born, you are a target, because you are the remnant of the seed of the woman (Revelation 12). The war has now been made manifest in words and deeds against you. You are one of those who cried out for the return to the Commandments of Yah, and you began to keep them, and repentance, and the turning away from sin. This boldness touched every area of your being. You faced all of the repercussions from people (and you know full well what they’ve been). Because at a moment, through no merit of your own, you were given the ability to live as an outward sign. You began recognizing sin all over your life and you put a stop to it. You knew Truth and there was no way anyone of anything would turn you from it. You wanted so disparately to share it! Though you labored long and taught them and proved to them out of the Scriptures, few listened, and most of those withered away. They picked at you and you became their problem. They eliminated you from their company.

You are at war, and for many of you it is really the beginning, countless others have already given their lives. You must stay in the battle, don’t drop the execution stake. You well know that each victory over self and the world and fear and unspeakable things, emboldens you, empowers you and refines you as these fiery trials perform their purpose in you. As the apostle Peter wrote, “The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God, and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”
