Y’shua rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, “Peace, be still.” And the wind ceased. And there was a great calm.
Angry storms rolled across our county and many others. The hot and humid days leading up to them were a volatile mix with the accompanying cold front. Faint flickers of lightening off in the distance, became continuous flashing strobes. Thunder rumbled in a steady baritone hum. Back-lit by the lightening, we could discern ominous formations working their way toward us.
Our open horizon allows an unobstructed view of these awesome events. Though it was around 10:45pm, an attempt to capture the foreboding clouds was made. A long exposure shot with the camera would probably do it. After about a dozen attempts, the camera was put away. The small previews from the camera didn’t look too promising. It wasn’t until the next morning, when the pictures were downloaded to the computer did I realize how closely danger had passed…
Iniquity abounds, no question, we live today in the midst of a gathering storm. Uncertainty, like the darkness of night, prevents us from telling exactly what is coming our way. As the wind begins, we know upheaval is close at hand, one lightening strike could set the whole thing ablaze.
Yet, that very cloak of darkness leaves space for the workings of live faith in action. It is a chance to truly trust our Salvation, Y’shua. My life is in Your hands, I pray. I am alive in Y’shua, His mighty power is on display, He who has spoken all things into existence. I stand looking up into the rolling, heaving sky.
Fear is far from me, I give thanks for this awesome sight, even more that He guards me in the midst. Then, like it came in the storm was gone. Over us fell a gentle rain. A cool breeze and the smell of well watered ground was all that remained. Then a sigh is let out.
Not one bit of harm, no damage. We thank Him for His works of Creation, which He ordained to go about His will. Then I remembered He rebuked the wind and said to the tumultuous sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
He said why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? We should ask ourselves that same. The boat may take on water, even all may appear to be lost, don’t let go of Him.
Salvation, Deliverance, Victory is He.
